An Opportunity for Writers with Children

The 2014 My Time Fellowship for writers with children

A two-week fellowship is being offered by The Writers’ Colony at Dairy Hollow for writers who are also parents, thanks to a grant from the Sustainable Arts Foundation. The recipient will have a private suite with writing space, private bath, and wireless Internet in the historic arts town of Eureka Springs, Arkansas. The residency provides uninterrupted writing time, with dinner prepared five nights a week and served in our community diningroom. Residents also share the camaraderie of other professional writers and artists when they want it, and a community kitchen stocked with the basics for breakfast and lunch. My Time includes the two-week residency and provides a stipend of $1,500 to help pay for child care or travel expenses or to make up for time lost at work. My Time is not limited to a specific genre. Writers can work in poetry, memoir, fiction, nonfiction or young adult. Please include in the application package information about your family and how this fellowship will help you progress as a writer. No more than one page, please.
